Misfits of the Fringe
Deliver justice. Bring 'em back alive.
Name: Sovrae Takaxo
Career: Bounty Hunter
Specializations: Gadgeteer, Mechanic
Obligation: Blackmail (15)
Motivation: Belief (Justice)
Delivering justice to the far reaches of the galaxy – it’s what I do. Some bounty hunters, they use the job as an excuse for violence and brutality. But not me. I bring in my targets alive, because I believe that’s how justice should work. And hey, the pay’s not too shabby either. I’m not just in it for the credits, mind you, but it is nice to be able to fund my workshop. I’ve been tinkering with machines since I was old enough to hold a hydrospanner in the Corellian shipyards.
Speaking of which, let’s start there. As a Zabrak, most people assume I’m from Iridonia, but I’ve never even been to the homeworld. I’m 100% Corellian, and proud of it. My parents moved there long before I was born. Dad works for Sienar Fleet Systems, so I got to spend lots of time in the yards when I was growing up. I love learning how things work, and from there, how I can change and improve on the technology that powers everything we do, things that other people take for granted.
Someday, I’d like to design great machines that will change the course of history. For now, though, I’m working on gadgets. Improving weapons, building droids, and setting traps for bounties. Oh, and constantly repairing the ship. Mostly because Alister has little to no regard for the limitations of a starship.
And then there’s Dax. He’s pretty much my best friend and trusty partner. He’s a top-notch slicer, and he even knows some of the old Jedi tricks. That’s why we have to keep him on the ship when we go to the core worlds – can’t have the Empire stealing my buddy. He can crack any network, which comes in really handy when my target’s holed up in a building with some kind of crazy security system, or when they’re foolish enough to leave a Holonet presence. You’d be surprised how often that happens, actually.
Thank goodness for careless criminals – they put credits in our pockets and keep our ship flying.
